Ica

Ica is a unique city located in the south of Peru, its infrastructure has viceroyalty and neoclassic details like in the Señor de Luren Sanctuary, Stone Museum, the Cathedral, among others. Famous for the Paracas and Nazca cultures that once thrived in this area, the Paracas were characterized by cloaks, funerary bundles for their mummies and the famous skull trepanations. This area is also known for the famous Nazca lines, ancient geo glyphs built in the pampas with the same name, the ones that can be seen from aerial overflights. Ica is also the city where the Ballestas Islands, Paracas National Reserve and the Huacachina Oasis are located. The Oasis is located a mere 5 km from Ica city and is surrounded by huge sand dunes where you can practice sandboarding, boogie-board, and enjoy other adventure sports.
