DAY 01: CUSCO
Reception by our staff and transfer to your hotel. Arrival and accommodation in your hotel where you will check-in, the welcome drink “coca tea” will help you relax and counteract the high altitude sickness “soroche”. Free morning to acclimatize.
In the afternoon, our guide will contact you at the reception of the hotel to begin the tour, and direct you to the famous temples and Inca ruins. Visit to: the Cathedral of Santo Domingo, the Qorikancha Temple of the Sun, Saqsaywaman, Qenko, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay. Transfer to your hotel in Cusco.
DAY 02: SACRED VALLEY
Early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel to do a full day tour outside of the city to the Sacred Valley, where you will visit destinations as: the “Pisac ruins”, ruins are considered to be one of the finest remaining inca archeologic sites in the country; the famous artisan “Market of Pisac”, the largest market starts from the main plaza and spread into the inclined streets, there are many individual vendors who sell products like knitted scarfs, trinkets, jewelry, alpaca jumpers, clothing and ceramics. At the end of the visit, you will enjoy a buffet lunch in Urubamba.
Afternoon visit to Ollantaytambo (inca complex), with has the town in the central part and from there you can see a big amount of farming terraces. Finally, visit to Chinchero town, exceptional for their colorful weavings and archaeological ruins. Return to Cusco.
DAY 03: FESTIVAL OF THE SUN OR INTI RAYMI
“The Festival of Inti Raymi or Festival of the Sun” is a religious ceremony of the Inca Empire in honor of the Inti (father sun), celebrated each winter solstice in the Andes.
Early in the morning we will pick you up from your hotel to take you to the Main Square where you will be able to see the Inti Raymi Festivity performance. We will take you to Sacsayhuaman for the main ceremony. Cold lunch (Box lunch). At the end of the ceremony we will take you back to your hotel.
DAY 04: MACHU PICCHU
Morning transfer from your hotel to the train station in Ollantaytambo or Poroy (depending on the date) to board the tourism train to the town of Aguas Calientes. When you get there, you will take a bus to go up the mountain in a 30 minute trip. Arrival and guided tour of 2-3 hours around the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. At the end of the visit, return to Aguas Calientes town for lunch. At schedule time, you will board the train back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy and transfer by bus to the city of Cusco.
DAY 05: CUSCO / LIMA
After breakfast at scheduled time, transfer from hotel to airport for your return flight to Lima city.
