THE SIKURI:
Authentic from the high Andean plateau from Puno. Characterized by the coloring costumes. Its music is destined to Pachamama “Mother Earth”, to promote harvest. It is the symbol of life, the cycle and eternity. That’s why every Sikuri session leads to a ritual, its energy surpasses the artistic and evolves into the spiritual.
THE MARINERA:
It is a couple dance, characterized by the use of handkerchiefs. It is elegant, flirtatious and fine. It is a sample of the Hispanic-Amerindian-African crossbreeding. Its origin is attributed to a colonial dance called Zamacueca, very popular in the XIX century.
THE HUAYNO:
It is a music genre and an Andean Peruvian dance. Proper from the Peruvian mountains. Its name comes from the Quechua word “huayñunakunay” that means dance taken by the hand. It’s an independent mixed couple dance. It’s joyful and its message is falling in love and the subtle courtship from a man to a woman and the disappointment or suffering for the loss of a loved one.
Among others, that accompanied by a typical dish dinner, will make a great culture, music and tradition experience, and if you are motivated you can even dance!
